Occupational Rehabilitation

Occupational rehabilitation focuses on returning injured workers back to work safely and with maximal functional performance while performing their job. Rehabilitation is aimed toward correcting improper work habits which are the cause of repeated work related accidents and injury. This is achieved by a specific sequence of functional activities mimicking the injured worker’s duties, such as box lifting or specialized repetitive movements. Many times poor postural structure and movement can cause decreased muscle flexibility and weakness, resulting in higher workplace accident rates.

Our rehabilitative approach involves not only educating the patient on performing their work duties safely but focuses on the importance of proper body mechanics and how they set up their work station (ergonomics) while performing daily job duties.
